What an Experience!

The Bell Block Tryathlon was held at the school and in some of the streets around it.
Adrenalin pumped as I lined up for the start of my race. That's how it felt when I was doing the individual 10 year olds race. It was my first time participating in the tryathlon and it's not easy, thinking how fast the other competitors were going compared to me. Suddenly, the whistle blew, everyone was sprinting for the lead. As we approached the swimming pool I tried to go faster as I settled into fourth place. I hopped into the pool, no energy to do my breathing properly, just trying to keep some pace as the
others attempted to pass. By the time I hopped out I was still in third or fourth. Unfortunately while I was getting my biking gear on I lost about four positions, (including the girls) but luckily I made a few up on cycling, I powered down a straight on 7th gear, twice as fast as anyone else. By the time I got running I was about 5th place. I started off in a sprint but quickly ran out of energy. That doesn't mean I stopped, I kept the same pace and gained one position, putting me back into fourth. I completed my three laps and powered down the final straight."Yes!" I had finished! While I was finishing I thought I was in third but I soon found out I was in fourth place. I was a
bit annoyed but still... it was my first individual tryathlon so I actually did really well!

Welcome to Room 14

Room 14 have started the year in their newly furbished room thanks to our wonderful caretaker, Mr Rutherford and our BOT chair, Mrs Win. Mr Freebairn-Read spent some time decorating our walls during the holiday too. We think our room is great because we have a pet cockatiel called CJ, an aquarium of goldfish and a number of pots containing plants we have planted out ourselves.
This term we have worked hard and have filled our display areas with our bright creative work.
Room 14 is the best place to learn in!!
